Chocolate Truffles

Mari L.B.

What you need:

  • 3 tablespoons of butter

  • 1 (14 ounce) can of condensed milk

  • ¼ cup cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Optional toppings:

  • Chopped walnuts, pecans, or pistachios

  • Chocolate or rainbow sprinkles

  • Mini chocolate chips

  • Shredded coconut

What to do:

  • 1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium high heat. Add condensed milk, cocoa powder and vanilla. Whisk or stir until the mixture starts to bubble.

  • 2. Trun heat to low. Cook the chocolate mixture, stirring often, until it is thick and fudgy, about 5 to 10 minutes.

  • 3. Butter an 8-inch square pan. Pour the mixture into the pan. Cover and refrigerate until firm, about 2 to 3 hours (or overnight).

  • 4. To make each truffle, scoop out a small ball of chocolate with a teaspoon.

  • 5. Wet your hands with water, then roll the ball quickly in your hands.

  • 6. Coat the ball in any of the toppings at the top (or any topping you want to try). Place on plate. Repeat steps 4 through 6 for the rest of the batter, rolling each ball in the topping.

  • 7. Serve and enjoy!
